RFP for Panels

Introduction
We are re-shoring production from overseas and are seeking proposals from qualified U.S.-based manufacturers with expertise in plastic sheet conversion and lamination to produce our custom panel. It is a critical component in our consumer-grade, water-exposed application, and must be engineered to perform under wet conditions without risk of delamination or material degradation.

Basic Specifications: Panel is composed of three layers of clear polypropylene laminated together.

• Core Layer: Rigid polypropylene sheet, 12 x 20 x 0.030" (30mil)
• Outer Film Layers (2 total): OPP (oriented polypropylene) or CPP (cast polypropylene) 13 x 21 x 0.003" (3mil) one film on each side of the core layer (0.5" contour encapsulation)
• Lamination Method: At supplier’s discretion, may be heat-activated adhesive, liquid adhesive, or pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). End result must be completely waterproof and resistant to delamination, even after kiss-cutting exposes the edge of the core layer.
  

Performance Requirements

• Panel must remain fully laminated and structurally intact after repeated folding at kiss-cut.
• No edge separation or bubbling after prolonged exposure in household bath environment.
  
• Sample prototypes may be requested (for water testing, not to scale) from shortlisted suppliers prior to final award.
