Get Ready to Say Yay in May !
It's certainly been a while. Last update was Feb 26. Why so long? I'll explain later. But first, here’s the good news: we should be back in stock by May! So if you got a defective product, your voucher for the free replacement is valid. If you never got your product, you will.
Why is this taking so long? Let me take a step back to better explain the way forward.
Until last year, my product was made in China. My manufacturing partners were great, producing high-quality at a reasonable cost. But that all changed with tariffs, especially back when they were changing every month. So I invented a way to manufacture here in the USA with high speed, high-tech equipment. And I’m glad I did. So far, so good.
Over the holidays, we hit our first speed bump and had to wait 3 months for a local company to replace defective sealing machines. Problem solved, right? We started shipping in January. Unbeknown to us, the panel-making company had applied incorrect material, which caused them to rip at the seams. So by Feb 26, I issued the product recall.
Now, I’m happy to announce that we found American suppliers to make our custom panels with the correct material. It took a while, but I found them.
- Last week, we got bids from material suppliers and 1 local factory to take over the work.
- This week, we get material to test.
- Next week, we will pick the winner.
- 3rd week: we’ll order the material in bulk
- 4th week, make the new panels
- 5th week, ship your order (expect mid-May)
This is a very rough schedule, but as you can see, we are making solid progress. I’m not giving up! It's not a matter of "if", but "when". And now I can send more frequent updates, so watch for those 🙂
